EFFECT OF RURAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION ADOPTION IN THE REDUCTION OF INEQUALITIES

This research examines the perceptions of agroecological producers’ of “chacras agroecologicas” project about inequality reduction. This project was developed in Puyo Pastaza, promoted by the Pastaza Decentralized Autonomous Government (GAD for Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado in Spanish). By interviewing ten project participants during the months of November and December 2018, we look forward analyzing how rural entrepreneurship can support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promoted by the United Nations (UN). The conceptual framework used for the analysis was retrieved by a systematic literature review as well as the indicators to measure inequality perception. Data was collected through a convenience sample, where the main tool was a semi-structured questionnaire. Using Multiple correspondence analysis (MCA), two main clusters were obtained having a high representation in frequency by gender. Those clusters had diverse perceptions among inequalities, however, the frequency was higher in the first cluster and analyzed as the sample representative. Most producer’s perception pointed out that the chacras as rural entrepreneurship along with innovation adoption in Puyo, are not the key for a better level of equality among producers.La presente investigación examina la percepción de productores agroecológicos del proyecto “chacras agroecológicas” sobre la reducción de inequidad. Este Proyecto fue desarrollado en Puyo – Pastaza y promovido por el Gobierno Autónomo Descentralizado (GAD) de Pastaza. Se entrevistaron a diez participantes del proyecto durante los meses de Noviembre y Diciembre, buscamos analizar cómo el emprendimiento rural puede incentivar al logro de los Objetivos del Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) propuestos por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU). El marco conceptual usado para el análisis se basó en una revisión sistemática de literatura para obtener los indicadores de medición de inequidad. Los datos fueron recogidos en base a una muestra por conveniencia, cuya principal herramienta fue un cuestionario semiestructurado. Usando Análisis de Correspondencia Múltiple (ACM), se obtuvieron dos clústeres que mayor tienen representación en frecuencia por género. Estos clústeres nos brindaron percepciones diversas sobre inequidad, sin embargo, el primer clúster mostró mayor frecuencia siendo considerado el más representativo en el estudio. Mayormente, los productores apuntan a que las chacras, adoptadas en Puyo como emprendimiento rural de la mano con la adopción de innovaciones, no son factores claves para un mejor nivel de equidad entre productores

Graphene coherent states

In this paper, we will construct the coherent states for a Dirac electron in graphene placed in a constant homogeneous magnetic field which is orthogonal to the graphene surface. First of all, we will identify the appropriate annihilation and creation operators. Then, we will derive the coherent states as eigenstates of the annihilation operator, with complex eigenvalues. Several physical quantities, as the Heisenberg uncertainty product, probability density and mean energy value, will be as well explored.Comment: 17 pages, 32 figure

Correlations and synchronization in a Bose-Fermi mixture

We study a Bose-Fermi mixture within the framework of the mean-field theory, including three possible regimes for the fermionic species: fully polarized, BCS, and unitarity. Starting from the 3D description and using the variational approximation (VA), we derive 1D and 2D systems of equations, under the corresponding confining potentials. This method produces a pair of nonlinear Schr\"{o}dinger (NLS) equations coupled to algebraic equations for the transverse widths of the confined state. The equations incorporate interactions between atoms of the same species and between the species, assuming that the latter can be manipulated by means of the Feshbach resonance (FR). As an application, we explore spatial density correlations in the ground state (GS) between the species, concluding that they strongly depend on the sign and strength of the inter-species interaction. Also studied are the dynamics of the mixture in a vicinity of the GS and the corresponding spatiotemporal inter-species correlation. The correlations are strongly affected by the fermionic component, featuring the greatest variation in the unitary regime. La primera parte de este texto critica la intervención teórica de Michael Nyman sobre las nociones de "Minimalismo" y "música experimental", señalando ciertas confusiones habituales. La segunda ensaya una definición del Minimalismo en términos de "materialismo artístico", y aborda problemas y conceptos relativos a la música "minimal": la relación entre minimalismo en música y en artes plásticas; los intercambios con la música popular y el jazz; la relación entre vanguardia musical norteamericana y europea. La tercera es una reseña detallada del ciclo de conciertos y conferencias en torno a la música minimalista celebrado en La Casa Encendida de Madrid en Marzo de 2008.The first section of this essay criticizes the theoretical intervention performed by Michael Nyman on the notions of "Minimalism" and "experimental music", pointing to some usual confusions. The second section proposes a definition of Minimalism in terms of an "artistic materialism", and tackles several problems an concepts relating to Minimal music: its relationship to Minimalism in plastic arts; its exchanges with several currents of jazz and pop music; the relationship between the American and the European musical avant-gardes.
